Preventing Homelessness

Type of course: accredited at undergraduate level
Delivery: 6 online learning units over 16 weeks (including final assessment)
Aimed at: housing, social work, health, education, advice and support
professionals.
Content: risks and resilience; early prevention; pre‐crisis intervention; developing lasting solutions for individuals; inter-professional working; and monitoring and evaluation of prevention work.

Are You Ready For 2012?
Type of course: unaccredited
Delivery: 2 day intensive online course
Aimed at: housing professionals, including those from local authorities, housing
associations and voluntary agencies
Content: The Housing (Scotland) Act 2010 brings a number of “new measures” for implementation which will widely affect policy and practice.
Our CPD course in Housing Law will cover:
- Security of tenure in the Private Rented Sector – who is and who is not homeless (this will include a look at the relevant legislation and case law).
- Pre Action Requirements for rent arrears (council and RSLs).
- Changes to the role of the Scottish Housing Regulator – what these mean for you and how to “demonstrate” effective evictions practice (councils and housing associations).
