Beyond Homelessness:
Developing Positive Social Networks
The Beyond Homelessness research project has now completed its first round of interviews with participants at risk of or experiencing homelessness.
A total of 75 interviews were conducted across the four case study areas, with a broad mixture of housing circumstances, ages and gender being represented across the sample.
We would like to thank all those who offered their time for interview and to our research team of peer and sessional researchers, who have contributed their skills and knowledge to the interview process.
Whilst analysis of these finding will soon be underway, we are looking to consult with support providers in our case study areas (Aberdeenshire, Edinburgh City, Highland and West Dunbartonshire) ensuring a balanced view of service provision is possible.
Over the next few months we will be holding workshops with support providers and researchers to extend our understanding of housing support in each area and to feed into our best practice recommendations.
Spring 2012 will see us follow up with our research participants to see how the support they received in the interim months has helped them move away from homelessness and gauge the impact of social networks in this process.
